Britney Spears back to the Hospital

Britney Spears was removed from her home and escorted by police to the UCLA Medical Center for a full mental evaluation after the pop star was caught driving “like a mad woman” through her neighborhood and refusing to take her meds. This is the second visit to the hospital for the pop star after her psychologist called the police. The North Hollywood Police Department sent about eight officers to Spears’ hilltop house in Studio City, California, early this morning. Other local agencies participated which included plainclothes officers, motorcycle police and ambulance crews.
Spears was calm and silent as she waited for police and paramedics to arrive, and was not resistant when placed on the gurney.
Police blocked several roads leading to the hospital to prevent paparazzi and reporters from trying to follow Britney Spears’s arrival. Jamie and Lynne Spears, Britney’s parents, were told recently they were no longer making medical decisions on behalf of their daughter. This was reportedly a firm decision made by Spears through her lawyers following her stay at Cedars-Sinai earlier this month.Doctors at UCLA are working with Sam Lufti, Spears’ manager and companion, and not her parents. Spears’ father reportedly screamed at Lufti in the hospital hallways and accused him of trying to control his daughter’s mind. Spears has been in a highly public downward spiral since filing for divorce from Federline in November 2006.
