The judge ruled Sept. 12 that Bronstein’s home is more stable and structured, reaffirming a 2007 court order that the executive vice president of the San Francisco Chronicle has permanent sole custody of Roan. Stone retains visitation rights. The judge also said the parents must consult with each other before enrolling their child in any tutoring activities, and that Stone’s telephone number should be programmed into Roan’s cell and home telephones.

Stone has two other sons, Laird and Quinn, whom she adopted on her own. A call to Stone’s lawyer was not immediately returned Tuesday.

Pop star Jennifer Lopez is set to star with hubby singer-songwriter Marc Anthony in an upcoming flick El Cantante.

The film revolves around the life of ‘ King of Salsa’ , Hector Lavoe, which will be portrayed by Anthony, who is popular for his salsa music and salsa monga ballads.

JLo, who is also an executive producer for the film, will play Lavoe’s wife Puchi in the flick. Lopez, who will return to films after a gap of three years, revealed that her break from the showbiz helped her focus on her marriage. “Since I got married, the focus has really been on my marriage and my life.

It’s nice because I had a run there where I was working non-stop. My whole life was about work, so it was nice to get away from that for a little while,” a music website quoted Lopez, as saying.

“It was a conscious decision to pull away and find out a different way to live where I wasn’t on the cover of tabloids all the time,” she added.

Paul Tweed – who specializes in bringing US-based celebrities’ libel cases to British and Irish courts – told The Associated Press that Lopez and Anthony were seeking “a six-figure settlement” from the Enquirer, based in Boca Raton, Florida, and its parent company, American Media.

Tweed said the lawsuit would be filed Tuesday in a Belfast court, and in subsequent days in courts in Dublin, London and Paris.

The lawsuit also seeks an apology and retraction for an article that appeared in different versions of the Enquirer’s US and international editions.

The version published March 12 in British and Irish editions claimed the couple were “caught up in a heroin scandal” – and reprinted a 2004 picture of Anthony standing beside photographer Michael Star, who is facing charges of heroin possession and child pornography in the US.

The article quoted an alleged friend of Star as saying that Star and Anthony were friends.

Tweed told The Associated Press that this was untrue, and that Anthony did not know Star even as an acquaintance. Anthony posed for the 2004 photograph, Tweed said, in keeping with his usual hospitality toward backstage concert fans.

There has been a growing trend in international libel suits brought by US-based celebrities in European courts, where libel laws favor the celebrity, not the publication.

“The First Amendment restrictions in US libel law make it virtually impossible for international celebrities or other high-profile individuals to sue successfully,” Tweed said. “But with the advance of the Internet, and with US publications now extending their distribution network into Europe, they must subject themselves to libel laws in these jurisdictions.”

Tweed said he received approval Monday from Lopez’s Los Angeles law firm, Lavely & Singer, to proceed with the lawsuit.

It will be Tweed’s second lawsuit against the Enquirer. In July 2006, he secured a published apology in the European edition of the Enquirer for an article that claimed that pop singer Britney Spears was about to divorce Kevin Federline.
