Just as he was beginning to assert himself as a decent singer, Sanjaya Malakar regressed with a ragged rendition of “Something to Talk About.” If Simon is right and this is a singing competition, he’ll be the next to go.

Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Marc Anthony, are suing the US tabloid National Enquirer in European courts over its claims that they were linked to a drug scandal, the couple’s Belfast lawyer said.
Paul Tweed - who specializes in bringing US-based celebrities’ libel cases to British and Irish courts - told The Associated Press that Lopez and Anthony were seeking “a six-figure settlement” from the Enquirer, based in Boca Raton, Florida, and its parent company, American Media.

Tweed said the lawsuit would be filed Tuesday in a Belfast court, and in subsequent days in courts in Dublin, London and Paris.
The lawsuit also seeks an apology and retraction for an article that appeared in different versions of the Enquirer’s US and international editions.

There have been a lot of rumours circulating about Beyonce and Jay-Z recently, mainly about either splitting up or getting married, but MediaTakeOut.com is reporting that Def Jam President Jay-Z may soon be announcing he will be leaving the label to start a new one with Beyonce and it could be as early as next year.

“It’s a done deal. Jay-Z already has Beyonce and Matthew Knowles on board,” a source told the website. “She’ll be finishing up her contract [with Sony], and I expect that she’ll sign on to the new label shortly afterwards.”

“There are lots of children that need a home in America. I feel we have forgotten about our own kids. With Brad and Angelina it’s whatever works for them.”

LOS ANGELES - Christina Ricci is joining “Matrix” creators Larry and Andy Wachowski’s live-action adaptation of the 1960s cartoon “Speed Racer.”

Susan Sarandon and
John Goodman already have boarded the high-octane Warner Bros. project, which is based on the anime series created by Tatsuo Yoshida for Japanese audiences and later imported to the U.S.

“Speed” centers on a young race car driver, Speed (Hirsch), and his quest for glory in his thundering, gadget-laden vehicle Mach 5. Ricci will star as Speed’s girlfriend Trixie, his formidable ally on and off the track.
The show revolved around Speed’s family. In the big-screen adaptation, Goodman will play Pops, a race car owner and builder. Sarandon is on board as Pops’ wife, the backbone of the family as well as the Mach 5 Go Racing Team.
